Our day exploring Ben Tre was nothing short of magical! From the moment our guide Hieu picked us up, his warm hospitality set the tone for an unforgettable journey. Cruising along the Mekong River, we visited a traditional brick kiln and a fascinating local coconut house where we learned so much about coconut crafts and even sampled delicious coconut candy. The boat ride through the scenic coconut canals was breathtaking, and the short village walk gave us a glimpse into peaceful rural life.
One of my favorite parts was discovering the handmade mat weaving village and experiencing the lively ride on the Xe Loi tuk-tuk — such a unique way to see the countryside! The home-cooked lunch featuring elephant ear fish was fresh and tasty, enjoyed in a lovely garden setting. Finally, paddling a sampan through narrow coconut canals was a peaceful, authentic finale.
Hieu was informative, patient, and genuinely cared about making the experience special. I highly recommend this tour to anyone wanting to connect deeply with the Mekong’s culture and nature.
Starting our tour at 11:00 AM was ideal for a leisurely day in Ben Tre. Our guide, Tai, was fantastic at explaining the history behind the brick kiln and showing us the traditional pottery methods. We loved the visit to the local coconut house where we learned about all the coconut products and tasted some fresh specialties. The handmade mat weaving village was fascinating, and the Xe Loi tuk tuk ride was so much fun driving through the countryside. The home-cooked lunch was excellent, and rowing the sampan on the peaceful canals was a unique experience. Highly recommend this tour for anyone wanting an authentic glimpse of the Mekong Delta!
