Thanks to Minh, we experienced a side of Can Tho that most visitors miss. Sailing under the mighty Can Tho Bridge was inspiring, but the highlight was the ancient brick kiln — Minh’s storytelling brought the place to life. Drifting through secret canals, we saw a Can Tho untouched by tourism: kids playing, locals smiling warmly, life flowing gently along the river. The sampan ride with tropical fruits, the orange glow of the sunset reflecting on the water, the heartfelt hospitality… it left me emotional and deeply connected to this magical place.
Our guide Danh took us on a journey through time and emotions. First, we marveled at the impressive Can Tho Bridge towering above us. Then, we docked to explore a traditional brick kiln that looked like it belonged to another century. Danh’s passion for his roots was contagious. As we floated deeper into the hidden canals, the world grew quieter, only the sounds of children laughing and birds singing accompanied us. Tasting rambutans on the sampan while watching the sun melt into the Mekong was one of the most beautiful things I have ever experienced.
