This tour was exactly what we were hoping for—authentic, exciting, and absolutely delicious! From the moment our guide Thao picked us up at our hotel, we knew we were in good hands. Riding on the back of the motorbike through the lively streets of Can Tho at night was an adventure in itself!
Our first bite was the famous fried prawn cake, and it completely lived up to the hype—crispy, hot, and packed with flavor. The second stop took us into a bustling local food hub where we tried the shrimp and duck pancake. Watching it sizzle in the open kitchen was mesmerizing, and the taste was next-level!
The “secret food” stop added a fun twist, and we loved being surprised with something totally unexpected (and incredibly tasty). By the time we reached the grilled pork patty salad rolls, we were already full, but couldn’t resist. Each component was explained to us—lemongrass, starfruit, herbs—it was like a food class wrapped in a feast.
We ended the night with a drink at a rooftop café, taking in the peaceful view of the Mekong River and the glowing city lights. The whole experience was intimate, personal, and off the beaten path.

This night food tour in Can Tho was hands-down one of our favorite experiences in Vietnam! Our guide, Nam, picked us up right on time, and we hopped on the back of the motorbike to start our delicious journey across the city. Every stop was a hidden gem that we never would have found on our own.
The tour kicked off with crispy fried prawn cakes made fresh right in front of us—so light and full of flavor! Then we rode to another district to try the incredible shrimp and duck pancake, a dish we didn’t even know existed. We loved sitting with locals, soaking in the energy, and sharing beers with our guide.
Our third stop was a “secret food”—we won’t spoil the surprise, but it was absolutely delicious and something you won’t find in tourist restaurants. Then came the grilled pork patty salad rolls, and our guide explained each herb and dipping sauce in detail. We learned so much while eating nonstop!
The evening ended at a sky café with amazing views over the river. Sipping our drinks while looking out at Can Tho’s city lights was the perfect ending to a night full of flavors and fun. Nam was so enthusiastic, informative, and fun to hang out with—it felt like a friend showing us his favorite hometown spots.
