The temple follows the Theravada Buddhist school of the Khmer, Ghositaram Pagoda was built in 1860 and was first inaugurated in 1872.
After hundreds of years of existence, the pagoda began to deteriorate and was restored in 2001.
It took nearly 10 years to build the main hall of the new temple, which was completed with an area of more than 400m2 and a height of 40m.
The towers above the main hall were built and decorated very elaborately in the Khmer architectural style.
The porch and side walls of the pagoda are depicted with mascots from Khmer culture and images of Buddha’s life.
Inside the main hall of the pagoda, there are many carved carvings, embossed reliefs, patterns with high artistic value.
In the temple grounds, there are also two banners over 40m high, there are two towers storing the remains of Buddhists over the generations, a crematorium and many other auxiliary works. All of them honor the splendid majesty but also the closeness and warmth of the temple.
With the above unique features, Ghositaram Pagoda is really the highlight of Mekong Delta tourism that visitors should not ignore.
3. What to Do –See – Eat at Ghositaram Temple
During important festivals of the Khmer community such as Chol Chnam Thmay New Year, Dolta ceremony,… Ghositaram temple attracts a large number of devotees and tourists to attend.

5. Google Maps of Ghositaram Temple
Google Maps made a name for itself helping people travel from one place to another, avoid traffic (You probably know the route from your hotel to the gas station by heart, but what you can’t be sure about is gridlock), measure a distance, get back to the hotel on time, share the location…
6. Visit Ghositaram Temple by yourself
Solo traveller? Travelling on your own means you will get out of any difficult situations by yourself. This, in turn, leads to more satisfying travel experiences and helps you improve your problem-solving skills. These days we rarely get the chance to sit with ourselves and simply be. That’s why you should consider the time you spend alone on your trip as a gift.
It is possible for solo travellers to use google maps and do it alone. But sometimes they need to update local maintained roads and bridges which close and lead you a longer road than the road from Google maps. It is just about the time. It takes more time to find the correct garden to come. Adventure is always fun. Wifi is strong in Bac Lieu village! The locals find it hard to speak English as well. Top tip: Sticking to one canal and keeping going along it which gives you more things to see and avoids getting lost.
